Pregnancy Milestones

I'm 25 weeks already! I am almost to my third trimester and time is flying. I honestly can't believe it.

I wanted to record some pregnancy milestones that have occurred over the last few weeks so that I don't forget!

Milestone One:
I have finally purchased my first maternity items. I bought a pair of jeans and a couple of tanks. I still need to buy more but it's hard! Thank goodness that some stores are carrying cute maternity lines. Mostly, I just want it to be warm so that I can just wear cute skirts and dresses all the time. Also, can we talk about how ugly and annoying the full belly panel is? And PS I hate the word belly. Maybe because it rhymes with jelly? Gross.

Exhibit A:

Perhaps I shouldn't knock it, because I haven't actually even tried a pair on yet. I just can't quite bring myself to do it. I'm pretty satisfied with the low panel one I bought so far.

Milestone Two:
I received my first offensive pregnancy comment! I was at a work function with my dad and he was introducing me to someone. He said, "This is my pregnant daughter, Whitney, who's due in July." The woman then said to me, "Oh I saw you earlier and thought you were just pudgy because you needed to hit the gym."

A woman? Really? I thought we were all together on this. Everyone knows that one of the worst parts of being pregnant is being in that in-between phase where you are afraid people think you are just fat while you're waiting for your baby bump. In all honesty, I wasn't really offended. I was shocked, true, but in my head I thought, "Oh my gosh, I just got my first offensive comment! I have arrived!"

Other funny things:
- A 1st grader came up to me the other day and said, "Mrs. Goold, your tummy is getting FAT!" and proceeded to crack herself up. It was hilarious.

- For Dr. Seuss's birthday, they were doing a deal where you could get 5 Dr. Seuss books for $5. I had Jeff order them for us. He told me that he had been required to enter a name for the baby, but wouldn't tell me what name he had put in. The other day a package arrived in the mail that was addressed to "Maximus Goold." Nice.

We still don't have a real name for our little guy. Mostly we refer to him as "Megamind" because his head looks huge in his ultrasound picture. My class has put in their 2 cents for his name. They will come up and pat my tummy and say, "Hi, Austin" or "Hi, Brandon." I have a lot of Hispanic students in my class too, so I also hear "Hi, Enrique" or "Jorge" or "Juan."

Enrique Goold. Hey, it's a possibility! He can be our hero, baby. Or was it that he can shake his bon bon?

I will update with pictures soon!

I'm so mad you didn't post a picture! But good update. I bought 2 maternity shirts last week, not cuz I need them but they were on sale and I had a coupon that was expiring. It felt strange to buy them.

I like the name Max. But I was totally laughing that a package was delivered to "Maximus Goold" tell Jeff, that's awesome!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe you're already 25 weeks!!! Can we go maternity wear shopping soon PLEASE?! I've heard that Gap has good jeans and I also think Old Navy has some cute dresses/skirts. We must make a play date!

Also, Jeff is so hilarious. Love the Maximus Goold.

I absolutely cannot believe that that woman said that to you. Yeah, I thought we were all on the same team? Mostly what I've been getting from people is "you're pregnant? I would have NEVER guessed." I guess they're trying to be nice, but I've gained 10 pounds and none of my pants fit so I don't like the fact that they think I just look like this on a regular basis...

I can't wait to see your cute bump! Let's really play soon!

Oh, Whitney, do not allow full-panel maternity pants to creep their way into your closet as they did mine! I never wore mine after I bought them. Don't like the feeling of having the elastic waistband under my boobs! Gag! You are no doubt one stylin' prego mama so only fashionable outfits will do. Cannot believe what that dreadful woman said to you. Rudest lady of the century! Glad you're doing well and taking it all in stride. As far as baby names go, you should go with a "G" name to match "Goold," like Gorman or Gilbert. Ha ha. Or maybe you can do Geoffrey!

Whitney!!! I feel as though I've commented on this before, but now that I think about it, I may have just written up a comment and never actually published it! So...I am so excited for you!! I can't believe you're actually having a baby! You will be the best mom. Know that I love you and look forward to reading more of your posts for updates. And I say go with Maximus. After all, you can't go wrong with the "greatest".

Good update. I was just thinking yesterday that I want to see a pic of you to see if you are showing more. I always just wore maternity pants with the low panel, they are way more comfy.

I love the comments people make to pregnant women. lovely. I would have said back to her: "You must be expecting too, right? Or, do you need to hit the gym?" ha ha.
I bet you are one darling pregnant gal! Post pictures.

The comments will get worse I promise!! And the full panel I was against as well but those last few months they are super super comfortable and won't fall down all the time like the under belly panel will do those last two months!!

We still need to pick a day for your shower. I know your mother doesn't want us to do it but I am ignoring her!! hehe!!

This is happening so fast! Well for me anyway. I was just thinking how I was going to text you to tell you I need a picture of you.

p.s. You will not need the full panel ever. I wore my low panel jeans up until the bitter end. And a lot after the baby also.
