So. Was I crazy for trying it all again, this time with a 10-month-old? Probably. But I believe in second chances, and more importantly, the gooey goodness of s'mores. So we readied our tin foil dinners, packed up our things, and drove to the campground. (Side note: when I tried to pack our toothbrushes and toothpaste, Jeff informed me that I was violating camping rules. Is this true, or just a gross rule that boys follow when camping?)

The drive up was absolutely gorgeous. It really was a perfect weekend to go. I wish that I had taken more pictures of the scenery. Max was scared to even go inside the tent at first. He is definitely quirky. When it was time for bed, we put him down in the pack-n-play inside the tent, and he actually went to sleep fairly quickly. Jeff and I should have been cast in "Mission Impossible" for the way we stealthily crept in later on. Everything was fine until a few hours later when Max woke up crying. He ended up in my sleeping bag with me for the rest of the night. I was mostly off of the pad underneath my sleeping bag and my arm kept falling asleep, but it was a rare treat to snuggle next to my precious little boy and so I loved it. Can't wait to go again!

Looks so fun! Eli has ended up in my sleeping bag almost every time we have gone camping. Not too comfortable, but I agree, a rare treat to snuggle! :)
That looks like so much fun! And perfect weather too. You're a beautiful mommy!
Camping is not one of my favorite things to do. The prep and then the clean up are ALWAYS more then I bargained for! But the children LOVE it, and so it has become a summer tradition. Your Max is too cute! I am glad you had perfect weather, that always makes a difference!
Glad you had a good time and glad your urban sweatshirt is represented!
I am with you on the camping thing. Not my cup of decaffeinated herbal tea. Max's face is killing me. What an absolute doll-baby. He is so cute!!!
You are brave. We have never camped as a family. Brett took the older girls once but that was it. I really want to go soon though because the kids love it.
p.s. It is NOT a rule to go without brushing your teeth. Tell Jeff he is gross.
Glad it was a success! What a great way to kick off summer!
So cute! I do love that pic of him on the chair! You are brave and I am glad it turned out so well! I think you need to promise him to Jaylee....I love him! AND I never leave my toothbrush at home when I camp. I love that it is the one thing I can still clean :)
This totally makes me sad that we couldn't be there. It looks so pretty and like you had a great time. By the way Justin and I both brush our teeth when we go camping. Jeff, that is disgusting! ;)
