How Sweet It Is...

(Sorry, this is a long one)
I absolutely love Sundays. Our ward doesn't start until 1:20pm, and while I would prefer it earlier, it enables me to study, prepare dinner, and spend some wonderful time with Jeff before heading to our meetings. It is such a blessing to be able to take the sacrament each week, be uplifted through talks and lessons, and to have a fresh week to make improvements in one's life. We had a wonderful block of meetings today: a combined meeting on food storage and financial planning, an excellent Sunday School lesson, and testimonies (we have stake conference next week). We had about 10 new couples move into the ward this week and I am so excited. Our ward finally seems to be achieving more stability now that school has started, and the new couples seem very friendly, outgoing and eager to serve and get involved. We are really excited for the upcoming year!

The last couple of weeks have been really, really fun. We went to the Dinosaur Museum for the first time last Tuesday along with most of the Utah population! It was $2 Tuesday, and so busy! Kids were everywhere! But it was interesting and educational...both good things to a future school teacher!

Last Friday we said goodbye to Laney, my friend and manager at the MOA, who hired me. She has moved to Buffalo, NY with her husband and new little baby. We love them (and the MOA, of course), and can't wait to visit!
Last Saturday we drove out to Jeff's parents' house, picked up his nephew, Cameron (age 7), and some golf clubs and went to hit a bucket of balls. Let's be honest, golf is SO not my thing. I think that all of my brothers were gifted with all of the hand/eye coordination genes in our family. But I am unashamed to admit that Cameron was FAR better than I was. We were totally impressed. We moved on to the putting green after hitting all our balls, and I partially redeemed myself there only because it is like miniature golf! Check out these pros! (Notice: there are no pictures of me because I was that bad)

Yesterday, we went to lunch with our good friend, Brian Hansen, who served with Jeff in the Idaho, Boise Mission, and his FIANCE, Lisa Lee. It was our first time meeting Lisa and we were absolutely thrilled. It was so fun to hear their story, listen to their plans, and get to know her a little better. She is so nice and they are great together. We are so excited for their wedding in December.

Later that day we watched the first BYU game of the season (go Cougs!) with Andrew Scott, a friend of Jeff's from high school, made ourselves sick on Muddy Buddies Chex Mix, and then spent the evening with my cousins playing games. We decided that it is time to start building up our own collection of games and they had some we definitely want to add to our collection! Thanks to Chelsey and Mike for inviting us, and to Justin and Emily for having us over. We will need to get together again soon!

You guys are always so busy with so many fun things to do. Shane and I went and hit a bucket of balls last week and let's just say I was so bad I didn't even think about blogging it!

I love all of these updates. I also love the action shot of Cameron. That is so nice of you guys to take him. I don't think I have ever hit a bucket of balls. Maybe once and that is why I have never been back.

BTW, what grade are you teaching? I haven't heard if you have started yet.
