Back to School

I FINALLY found out! I will be doing my student teaching in a third grade classroom at Canyon Crest Elementary School in the Provo School District. I am pretty excited! I have taught 1st and 5th and now I get to try something in the middle.

I had an orientation meeting today and my enthusiasm grew as we talked about the classroom, field trips, and students. It feels like it has been so long since I have been in an elementary school classroom and I am definitely ready to jump back in. I am even feeling okay about the Teacher Work Sample: a huge culminating project that is graded pass/fail and determines whether or not I will get my teaching certificate!

So tomorrow will be my first official day! Wish me luck!

Yay, that is so exciting. My mom is an Elementary school teacher and she said that 3rd grade is her favorite grade to teach. I know you'll do great! Good luck!

Yay Whit! Third grade will be so much fun. That is one of two grades that I never taught in. I can't wait to hear all about it. Good luck with the TWS. It's kinda not really that bad... just stay on top of the deadlines and you'll be fine! Loves!

Well, my sister Kelley teaches 3rd grade and my mom taught 3rd grade for a hundred years so we are huge 3rd-grade-lovers in this family! Congratulations. You are a super star.

Hooray! Third grade was my absolute favorite! The kids still love their teacher and they are old enough to be able to pay attention. Good luck with everything...student teaching is a beast but you come home with the best stories! And definitely work on the TWS as you go...that saved me from going insane!
