Dance Festival & Carnival

So 3rd grade is great! They are at such a fun age where they are becoming a little bit more independent but still really like their teachers! It is challenging. I come home exhausted some days because I feel as though I have been on an emotional roller coaster! I get so excited when I see that they are learning and little light bulbs are going off, but it is frustrating when you realize a lesson just isn't going the way you hoped it would. However, I am learning a ton and my mentor teacher is just great! We have really similar teaching styles, and she is just hilarious. We have a good time together.

On Friday, we celebrated the school's 25th anniversary with a dance festival and carnival. My students had been working so hard on their dance for the last couple of weeks. They danced to "Seize the Day" from Newsies, and came with their jeans rolled up like knickers, long socks, news caps, suspenders...the works! Absolutely adorable. Jeff came along for the fun and captured some great moments for me with the camera.

Cami, my mentor teacher, was nominated to be in the dunk tank and our kids were THRILLED! Poor girl, the wind had really started up and it was pretty chilly waiting there on that ledge. She was a great sport!

Jeff and I hung out with my students, bought some boiled hot dogs (gross, I know) to support the school, and then caught a dollar movie. He loved being introduced as "Mr. Goold!"

Yeah, I'm so glad it is going so well. I can just imagine all of the students LOVING you. I'm sure you are so exhausted at the end of the day. Eliza is still not quite adjusted to being at school all day. Hopefully it will come sooner than later!

How fun! I miss kids so much. I helped my mom with her preschool class a few times last year, and they called me "Miss Allison." SO funny!

Dial "M" For Murder was so good. You'd love it.

You kids look so cute! I'm glad you're loving 3rd grade. We need to get together, dear. I have no idea when, but we need to.
