Okay, I am getting desperate! For those of you who know me well, you know that I almost always have a book with me that I will pull out and read whenever I get a free minute. Reading is a way for me to de-stress and pamper myself without breaking the bank! Guess what? I haven't had a good book to read in at least 3 weeks!! Part of the reason is that I have been incredibly busy and lacking enough free time to read for pleasure, but I also need new ideas for great reads.
That is where you, dear readers, come in! I am dying to hear about books you love: new reads, old favorites, all types! Please--for my sanity's sake, leave me a comment with your ideas!
Thanks!

girl! you have GOT to get on goodreads.com. you can see all your friends favorite books, books they've read, want to read, etc.
I'm on goodreads, and so is Michelle, although I haven't updated mine in a while. Just this week I am going through my boxes of books (finally) and am putting a pile together of books I've read but don't want to keep anymore. I'm bringing them to the next family dinner. Maybe there will be some good ones you haven't read. Although you've read everything. I don't have any suggestions cuz I am just finally finishing the Twilight series! I always ask Jennifer when I need a good new book to read, she always has good suggestions.
My favorite book as a kid was "Ella Enchanted." It is an easy read, but so entertaining!
I love the Importance of Being Earnest-Oscar Wilde, it's always my go-to read; The Things They Carried is one I've been hearing about; Little Women; Other People's Love Letters is one I've heard about but haven't read; You know I'm always reading Jodi Picoult and if you're ready for a somewhat controversial book, try Nineteen Minutes or Harvesting the Heart; My mom just finished the Friday Night Knitting Club and she LOVED it! Hope those are some good suggestions and if you need more, I can email you a list.
Have you ever read Gethsemane by Andrew Skinner? If not, you MUST. I'm not kidding, it completely changed my life. It is an incredible pick-me-up and so inspiring.
I am reading The Shadow of the Wind. Brett loves this book. I'm not too far into it but so far so good!
Read Pride and Prejudice! I just finished a book called Flight of the Crippled Eagle. It's about this boy who gets paralyzed and how it changed his life and he became LDS. I cried lots. Hooray for being cancer free and I love the Newsies!
I just read "The Omnivore's Delimma" by Michael Pollan. It is fascinating, very detailed, about where food really comes from & what we are putting in our bodies. It has really helped me think twice about what goes in my mind. Okay maybe that sounds boring but I liked it!
* I meant to say it helped me think twice about what goes in my BODY (not mind). There is a fascinating section of high fructose corn syrup . . . anyways, a bit a technical read but pretty fascinating.
sooo since I did el ed I pretty much lived in the young adult section and I can't seem to get myself out of it. SO if you don't mind reading juvenile literature I would definitely recommend the shadow children series. I read the first book to my fifth graders and everyday we pretty much cried when our twenty minutes or read aloud were over. I finished the whole series in a couple weeks!
One of my all time favorites is "Cry the Beloved Country".It became especially meaningful when Joseph served his mission in So. Africa.
BTW, what is your address? I still have your wedding gift on my counter!
