Monday ramblings...

Jeff is at work, Max is asleep (although he is normally a GREAT listener), and so you, dear blog readers, get to hear what is on my mind.

Anyone seen the Skecher's "Bobs" commercials?  Could there be a more blatant rip-off?  I submit that there could not.  Really, Skechers?  And the name "Bobs"?  No.  Just, no.

Also, house-hunting is the worst.  Really, the worst.  I will trick myself into thinking that I like it and that it is exciting when I really don't like it at all, turns out.  Mostly because I can't catch the vision of what a "fixer-upper" could look like and drive Jeff crazy by not liking a house simply because the current residents have decided that a giant Star Trek poster on the living room wall is perfect wall decor.  Or that a huge stuffed duck and a dream catcher are perfect accessories for the sunflower wallpapered bedroom.  Or that the crawlspace under the stairs is the ideal place to keep your ENORMOUS pet iguana!!! Can I just have a cute, cheap, ready-to-move-in house please?  In California?  Only in my dreams.

Note, this is not the actual iguana, but I needed you to have a visual to truly sympathize with MY reaction when we opened that crawlspace door.  Yes, I screamed out loud.  Turns out dinosaurs still roam the Earth.
I keep telling Jeff that the reason my jeans aren't fitting right is because I might be pregnant again.  He just smiles and says, "That would be great!"  Let's be honest, my lies aren't fooling either of us.  Curse you, Cadbury mini eggs.

I have been mulling over a lot of related, but currently disjointed thoughts about motherhood, women, balance, and knowing who you are.  I've tried a few times to blog about some of it, but so far it still hasn't come together.  Will keep you posted.  However, I am enjoying the process, the books and articles that I've read that have changed my perspective or reminded me of something I shouldn't have forgotten. I am enjoying finding myself as a mother.

I loved laughing with my mom so hard on the phone yesterday that we were both crying.

This past weekend, thieves broke several car windows in our apartment complex and stole many valuables.  Lucky for me, they must have been amateurs because they completely bypassed my 2002 Honda's sweet tape deck with my Wilson Phillips tape inside.  Score for me!  I'll be "hold(ing) on for one more day!"

You are too cute, Whitney! Hope you're able to find a house that you really like. We just did the whole house hunting thing 6 months ago. And guess what? Some of those things that we swore we were gonna change soon have grown on us. Those light fixtures and blinds really aren't so bad after all :)

Without even knowing what bobs are, I guessed what they were ripping off just with the name. That's ridic.
