An Entertainment Vocabulary

So I realized recently that Jeff and I have incorporated a lot of our favorite moments from television, movies, YouTube, etc., into our daily language. Let me share with you some things that you would hear around our house on a regular basis...

The Dwight: "FALSE!" A classic and so versatile. :)

The poor sportscaster: "Boom Goes the Dynamite!" Used whenever something unexpected or really cool happens. Also used as Jeff's name for his March Madness bracket. Let's hope it wins us the new scooter from the NuSkin pool!

The Spot: "I say that what you say is what I say." Used whenever one of us does not want to make a decision and is trying to flatter the other one into doing it!

I really love how families develop their own language! Not only is it influenced by what you watch, but also by slips of the tongue, funny shared incidents, and memories! What sayings can be heard around your house?

I loved this post. Many phrases came to mind that A.T. and I use and also things my Mom says. Pretty funny! False was my favorite one that you guys use! I can just hear Jeff saying it! Ha ha!

Do you ever watch 30 Rock? We use a lot of phrases from that show.

Love this! It's so true. We use "FALSE!" quite often too. Okay, other lines we use are:

"Could be, you never know!" This line is from one of JT's mission companions who said this to an investigator about one of the truths of the gospel. So funny.

"Come sit next to me all nice like" (best used when patting the seat next to you). This is one of JT's old friends who says this to his wife when she is grumpy. Makes me laugh every time.

"Sucks to be me right now!" and "Get that corn (or insert object) out of my face!" (really high pitched) from Nacho Libre.

"Somebody has to keep this family living in the lap of luxury" JT's dad says this.

"ReallY?! Seriously?! OH MY GOSH ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" From Saturday Night Live.

Gosh, I am loving thinking of all the funny lines we've started using from other shows, movies, people, etc. So funny.

Boom goes the dynamite is so funny! That guy is painful to watch. I couldn't even watch the entire thing the first time I saw this.

One time when I was reading to Eliza she said, "that is a crack up. That is Grandma's word for funny."
