That's What Friends Are For

Tonight we went to the Draper Temple Open House with our good friends, the Scotts. It was a great experience to walk through the temple and appreciate all of the thought and detail that goes into planning a House of the Lord. Everything in it truly does point to Him, from the artwork to the cleanliness to the symbolism to the architecture. It was nice to have a mid-week break!

This past weekend, we went to the Hunger Banquet with our friends, Chris and Karim Jones. They were nice enough to sit with us in the "low-income" seating where our tickets were, even though they had "middle-class" tickets. It is always an interesting experience at the Hunger Banquet. I wish that they would have had the keynote speaker earlier in the program, but it was a good reminder to count your blessings and to get some information about how to help.

Sitting on cardboard on the floor at the Hunger Banquet!

Also, Chris Nixon came into town this weekend, which was such a fun treat! Brian and Lisa had the old group over for a delicious dinner and some good laughs. W
e miss all of our friends who live far away and can't wait to find excuses to visit! :) We are lucky to have such wonderful friends.
