Memorial Day...and also, I have a life again!

My last day of school was Friday. We had a "Red Carpet" party and my kids came dressed as movie stars! They strutted their stuff on the red carpet, played movie games, had an impromptu dance party, accepted funny class awards, watched our awesome class video, signed autographs in each other's yearbooks, and reminisced about the year. Other highlights from the day included:

• One boy asking the class to raise their hands if they were happy it was the last day of school (almost every hand went up). Same boy asked if they were kind of sad it was the last day of school (every single hand went up!)
• One of my shy boys coming up to me and saying "This was the best year I've ever had."
• I read them the letter that I had written to them and put in their yearbook. I got a little teary at the end and said "Okay, that's enough! We have to talk about something else!" Some of my kids responded, "We're crying, too. You just can't see it behind our sunglasses!"

I had an absolutely amazing class and I will miss them dearly. I honestly don't know if another class can top the one I had this year! I decided to take the summer off so that I can concentrate on things for my next year of teaching and other projects that I've been postponing. I'm excited! Hopefully I will be able to stay better caught up on my blog, too!

We celebrated the end of the school year, Jeff getting a job, and our 2nd year anniversary by spending Memorial Day weekend in St. George!

We lounged by the pool, did some shopping, visited Brigham Young's winter house, watched some movies, and enjoyed every second. Have I mentioned how much I love my husband? I love getting to spend this much time with him. I am SO excited for the summer and this was a perfect way to begin.
